
How to Stick to Your New Year’s Fitness Job Goals
Just like we tell our clients to stick to their New Year’s goals, we need to do the same for ourselves. Each year, I make business goals based on everything I want to achieve. Making those goals become a reality is a continual process throughout the year. And maintaining motivation is a must. This article will provide specific action steps to take on How to Stick to Your New Year’s Fitness Job Goals so you continue to enhance your fitness business and don’t let your goals fall to the wayside.
- Write Down Your Goals: The first step to completing a goal is to write it down so you have a clear idea of what you want to accomplish.
- Make the Goals SMART: The goals should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant/Realistic, and Timely.
- For Each Goal, Set Specific Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Action Steps: Think about the goal you want to achieve. Write down weekly action items to take to move towards that goal. Using a calendar, schedule the action items into it to determine when you will do them. In addition, make monthly goals that these weekly action items add up to. Last of all, make sure the monthly action items add up to the quarterly goals.
- Review the Goals and Calendar:After you have written the goals and updated your action items into your calendar, review it. Make sure it is realistic and achievable.
- Get Feedback. Share the goals and action plan with a friend, colleague, or partner to get their feedback and opinion in order to confirm your actions will move you towards your proposed business goals.
- Support: See if that friend can provide support for you and keep you accountable. Motivation also helps to achieve your goals.
- Quarterly Review: Each quarter, review your goals and action plan and make sure you are still moving forward and staying focused. Schedule this quarterly review into your calendar to remind yourself of your goals and your accomplishments.
- Celebrate: When you reach a goal, remember to celebrate. You did it! Positive reinforcement helps with maintaining motivation and keeping action steps moving in the right direction towards achieving your goals.
Remember: You can achieve your fitness business goals. Take time to determine what your goals are, how you are going to reach them, and you will get there.
