PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSITANT (PTA).

SCHEDULE: 5 Days Per Week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, with Holiday Rotation.

TERRITORY: Clifton, Fairborn, Yellow Springs, Beavercreek, and WPAFB.

AGENCY: Kettering Home Care.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) you will provide comprehensive skilled services under the direction of a Physical Therapist. The Physical Therapist Assistant educates patients and their family members and ensures safety of the patient. The PTA is accountable for completing accurate documentation and remains compliant with all legal rule and regulations. The Company adopts the physical therapy scope of practice as outlined by the state for its licensed PTA personnel.

HOW YOU'LL WORK:

You will provide skilled physical therapy treatments according to the Physical Therapist's plan of care. Assist patients in improving strength, mobility, balance, endurance, and functional independence. Implement therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and other prescribed interventions. Monitor patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist. Help patients restore function and maintain optimal physical performance.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Patient & Family Education: Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques, safety precautions, and home exercise programs. Instruct patients and family members on the proper use of assistive devices and equipment, including walkers, wheelchairs, canes, crutches, braces, and prosthetic or orthotic devices. Encourage patient independence and promote safe mobility practices.

Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care. Participate in case conferences and care planning meetings. Support positive patient outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.

Documentation & Compliance: Complete clinical documentation accurately and timely in accordance with agency policies, Medicare requirements, and federal regulations. Document treatments, patient progress, assessments, and educational activities. Maintain compliance with professional standards and company policies. Participate in chart audits and quality assurance activities as requested.

Professional Responsibilities: Attend required meetings, in-service trainings, and continuing education programs. Participate in orientation and training of new employees as assigned. Maintain active PTA licensure and required certifications. Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: 

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, per the state of employment.

• Minimum one-year experience as PTA in an acute care setting - Home Care experience preferred.

• Valid driver's license and auto insurance in your name as a driver.

• Capable of all physical demands.
