Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director of Physical Therapy, provides physical services to patients following the plan of care established by a physical therapist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Under the supervision of a physical therapist, provides physical therapy services, reassessing the patient’s status on each visit   and ensuring quality of care as evidenced in the clinical record.
• Coordinates patient care with other clinical team members ensuring optimal patient care and communication as evidenced in   the clinical record.
• Completes all required paperwork following policies and procedures to ensure that documentation reflects care provided and   the outcomes achieved as evidenced in the clinical record.
• Maintains and enhances personal knowledge as well as promoting professional standards in physical therapy.
• Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety,   department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
• Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
• Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team inter- and intra- departmentally to facilitate the   department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Perform other duties as assigned

Professional Requirements:
• Complete annual education requirements.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Report to work on time and as scheduled.
• Wear identification while on duty.
• Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
• Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
• Comply with all organizational policies.
• Conduct oneself as a professional in accordance with PRIDE values.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
• Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.

Job Requirements:
• Graduate of an approved associate degree program as a PTA
• Currently licensed in the state of Iowa
• Two years’ experience with a varied patient population, preferred but not required.
