Assistant/Associate Professor - Kinesiology Sport Management

College of Health and Human Sciences Full Time

Primary Purpose Of Position
The Department of Kinesiology, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking an assistant/associate professor whose teaching and scholarly research agenda is broadly aligned with recreation and/or sport management. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate level courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, engage in program assessment accreditation-related procedures. The ideal candidate will have training and experience in working in a dynamic Kinesiology Department whose scholarly research agenda is in alignment with recreation and/or sport management . This candidate will be expected to: (i) establish and sustain a strong externally-funded research program in their field of expertise; (ii) produce an excellent record of scholarly publications; (iii) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in kinesiology courses to undergraduate and graduate courses; (iv) supervise and support kinesiology students in independent research projects; and (vi provide service to the Department of Kinesiology, the College and University as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position. The final rank will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications.

Minimum Requirements
A minimum of a PhD in a Kinesiology or related discipline by the anticipated date of appointment (ABDs will be considered, but a PhD must be awarded and showing on the transcript before the hiring date). Ability to establish and sustain a strong research enterprise, and have pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to Recreation and Sport Management

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
