Job Description and Requirements
The position of Personal Trainer reports directly to the Fitness & Spa Director, but may often work directly with the Assistant Fitness & Spa Director. The Personal Trainer will be responsible for developing personalized exercise programs for members and assisting them during their workouts. Promote lifelong adherence to a health and fitness program through realistic goal setting and education. Provide members with in-depth information on equipment usage, lifestyle management, and ultimately, how to design their own personal fitness program through Fitlinxx in an effort to produce independent exercisers.
Personal Trainer reports directly to the Fitness & Spa Director.
Instructing various fitness levels and formats in a safe and enthusiastic manner.
Ensures the "Trilogy Experience" for members and guests by maintaining the standards set in the Trilogy 10.
Adheres to policies of the facility and BlueStar Resort & Golf.
Reports any incident or accident to the Assistant Fitness & Spa Director and/or Fitness & Spa Director.
Helps ensure facility is only accessed by actual members and/or guests, and that it is safe and secure at all times.
Provides excellent customer service.
Maintains a client base by selling minimum level of new Personal Training packages as determined by the Fitness & Spa Director. Failure to maintain goals for three consecutive months may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Promotes all facility programs/activities by discussing other department areas that may assist members with a total facility experience. Must keep current with facility calendar Ã¢ programs, events and activities.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge about exercise, health, and fitness by remaining current with trends in the industry.
Participates in facility events, activities, and seminars when directed by management.
Contributes to facility by accomplishing related results as needed.
Assists staff with lifting and storing facility equipment, furniture, and products to help maintain facility and prepare for special events.
Interfaces with members, guests and team members.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Certification from a nationally recognized agency such as ACE, AFFA, ASCM, NSCA, and NSPA.
Current first aid, CPR, and other safety certifications when required by the client.
Ability to demonstrate equipment use for exercise training.
Must be able to lift 45-pound weight plates.
Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Experience in a continuous improvement environment a plus.
Possess a valid Driver's License.
