Description
The Fitness Specialist leads and coordinates individual or group adult fitness/physical training sessions for a specified health and fitness program. The Fitness Specialist plans and leads exercise/activity sessions in one or more assigned fitness areas, such as low impact aerobics, stretching/flexibility, yoga, circuit training, general fitness, weight training, and/or specialty training. The Fitness Specialist sets up, demonstrates proper usage, and monitors fitness equipment to ensure that safety and injury prevention policies and procedures are followed. The Fitness Specialist provide ongoing observation and interpersonal feedback of corrective measures including exercise technique, full range of motion, and proper breathing techniques to amplify benefits of exercise routines. The Fitness Specialist performs fitness evaluations of client's abilities, needs, and physical conditions, to develop and implement progressive, individualized exercise programs to meet any special requirements.

The ideal candidate is patient, has strong verbal and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree or Equivalent Experience
Certification: possess at least one nationally recognized certification in Group Exercise/Personal Training, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, or NSCA.
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Heartsaver AED Certification
