Job Description and Requirements
The Exercise Physiologist (EP) conducts a thorough fitness assessment and consultation as well as specialty fitness assessments and consultations on patients. The EP teaches exercise concepts, sets up exercise prescriptions based on patient's current ability and goals, evaluates the patient's progress, and documents the same for patient records and reports. The Exercise Physiologist is also responsible for conducting 12-lead ECG/Vo2 max. exercise tolerance tests, body composition analysis via air displacement methods and skinfolds, pulmonary function testing, as well as, aids in the maintenance of equipment used for such testing. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required:
Comprehensive knowledge of general exercise physiology theory and practices
Bachelor's degree in an allied health field, such as, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Healthcare Administration, Physical Education, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Kinesiotherapy, Athletic Training, Physiology, Sports Management, Biology, Exercise Physiology, Human Performance, Health Science, Recreation Management/Science, or Nutrition
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:

Performs body composition analyses using air displacement plethysmography and skinfolds in addition to maintaining the equipment used for measurement.
Measures carotenoid status using the Pharmex anti-oxidant scanner.
Performs exercise consults. Conducts a thorough fitness assessment and consultation as well as specialty fitness assessments and consultations on patients. Teaches exercise concepts, sets up exercise prescriptions based on patient's current ability and goals, evaluates the patient's progress, and documents the same for patient records and reports.
Conducts 12-lead ECG/Vo2 max. exercise tolerance tests, interpreting ECG's, and conducts pulmonary function testing as well as aiding in the maintenance of equipment used for such testing.
Responsible for research duties that require the expertise of an EP.
Maintains the stress testing lab which includes, but is not limited to, ordering of supplies needed for testing and cleaning of equipment. Also, stocks room with towels for patients.
Ensures code cart is updated.
