Job Description and Requirements

The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for assisting in the operation of the exercise and education portion of the Cardiopulmonary Rehab program. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of exercise programs for cardiac patients, developing and teaching education classes for Cardiac Rehab and the community.

In this position you will:
Assists in Cardiopulmonary Rehab, taking blood pressures and heart rates, preparing people for monitoring, data entry, leading exercises and teaches education classes.
Monitors the Cardiac Rehab by ensuring that all participants use the equipment in a safe and proper manner.
Assists in maintaining database of Cardiac Rehab patients.
Performs pulmonary rehab tasks on an as needed basis.
Plays an active role in community prevention programs.
Complies with facility and unit specific infection control, risk management and OSHA guidelines and procedures.
Adheres to facility and department confidentiality policies.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology or equivalent is required; Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology preferred.
BLS/CPR certification is required.
Three years' experience working with the public.
Personal experience in weight training, sports or recreational activities and understanding of exercise physiology, weight-training principles, nutrition, aging, injury treatment and prevention, and blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring are required.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:
ACSM certification is recommended.
