New Year, New Beginnings: 5 Tips For Annual Business Success

The New Year is a time to reflect on last year’s business. After pondering the past year’s successes and challenges, now set yourself up with a plan to enhance, grow, and optimize your business for further success. Here are 5 tips to do to plan this upcoming year achievements.

#1. Create A Marketing Plan. Attract new customers with New Year promotions. Keep existing customers with follow-up promotions. Set up a monthly marketing plan so that you continue to stay on top of your game and competition by keeping ahead of the pack.

#2. Keep Weekly Business Goals. Business goals are important in order to stay healthy and keep growing. Also, by having set goals, you can see what worked and what didn’t work in order to enhance, upgrade, or adjust prior goals. Make sure the goals are S.M.A.R.T. goals (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely) so that they are achieved by the end of the week.

#3. What’s Going To Make Me Money? An amazing person once told me that when she wakes up every day, she asks herself, “What is 1 thing that will make me money today?” And then she does it the best way she can. We are in business to make money while providing people with our products and services. Make sure that whatever you do, you do it well, with honesty and integrity, and you get paid for your worth.

#4. Revamp, Revise, and Renew. Make sure to reflect on what did and did not work last year. For the products and services that were not super sellers, reconsider changing them, discarding them, or adjusting your marketing materials. Sometimes, a technique or product we thought would be amazing just doesn’t cut it and needs to be tossed to the side. Next, please!

#5. Technology Upgrades. Take a look at your current use of technology whether it be social media (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Linked-In), website, online resources (blog, online product sales), mobile apps, or equipment. Think about how you may want to update your online profiles, use certain apps to enhance your products/services, start a blog or resource section for your clients, upgrade current equipment that may be outdated, or increase your online presence through a social media forum. With the speed of technology enhancements, annual technology upgrades are now a must.

Have a wonderful New Year planning and growing your business success. I’ll see you online!
