Ultra Fitness Beyond Imagination coach Lisa Felder, ‘Mama Lisa’, runs a busy, thriving fitness business, developing ultra running fitness and skills for athletes. How does she run a profitable business while keeping everything moving along? Organization and focus! What attracted you to the field of fitness and exercise?
I guess you can say my four brothers (way over 6 feet tall) got me involved in basketball and to help control my weight problem. It was a long journey being overweight that led me to teaching my son at an early age that health is your wealth. At the age of 5, I enrolled my son in an after-school soccer program which led me to running.

A typical (or not so typical) day in the work-life for you:
Write training programs for individuals and groups including but not limited to: Athleta/Gap, Inc., Police Department and Google, Inc. both road and trail racing.
How did you get your current job in fitness and exercise?
Attended Arizona Coaching Institution and trained first ever SF Fit training group from 1996 – 1997. Coached for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society from 1997-2015. The largest sports event in the world. Studied additional coaching under Jack Daniels, professor of physical education in Hawaii and San Diego.
What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way?
The ability to keep anything organized which allows me to focus on different projects without getting disoriented or lost and able to increase productivity and efficiency.
What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you?
Reflect where you are right now and see what you can embrace along the way.

would it be?
