Sarah Koszyk, MA, RD: What attracted you to the field of fitness and exercise?
Ashley Morris: I have a desire to help others lead healthier lives and lower their risk of chronic disease. Healthier people are happier people.

A typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you?
A typical day consists of maintaining a positive relationship with the Wellness Center members, developing and successfully running facility programs, instructing group exercise classes, creating personalized exercise prescriptions and run/triathlon training programs, corresponding to emails, supervising the preventive maintenance and repair of exercise equipment, staying on top of the latest research and supervising an intern.

What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way?
I was born with an extrinsic, passionate and optimistic personality towards health and wellness. My education and experiences along the way have improved my leadership and time-managementskills; as well as my confidence and patience.
What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you?
In order to be successful you need to be confident in your capabilities. Use your skills and talents to be proactive. Additionally, good communication skills, both written and verbal, are critical to success.
If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what would it be?
Scoops of ice cream!
