What attracted you to the field of health and wellness? I was attracted to the field of health and wellness by my passion for eating for disease prevention and desire to live a long and energetic life. My mother passed away due to cancer when she was 45 and I was in High School. I started down a path of healthy eating and regular exercise then. The more I learned, the more I wanted to share with my family and friends and the entire community.

A typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you: After facing the car pool line to drop off my sophomore in high school, I like to get to a group fitness class at the gym. Although, there really is no typical day because I work around my daughter’s schedule of school, acting classes, performances and competitive cheerleading. I spend hours at my computer keeping up on current marketing trends, conducting day to day operations of my businesses, marketing and building websites for a number of clients in lifestyles industries. I fit in my workouts and meal planning around scheduling all that and meeting with and supporting clients and customers.

How did you get your current job in health and wellness? I saw a Facebook post from a friend who was about to attend a R.I.P.P.E.D. instructor certification workshop. I had just decided to teach group fitness because I had been taking 5 classes a week. But I was struggling to find the right format for me. I took two other certifications that I never taught. Someone mentioned a R.I.P.P.E.D. training on Facebook and I signed up immediately. I taught the program for about a year, but in my research I noticed the company had a need for a stronger online presence and I offered my services. What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way? I was born with and innate ability to turn chaos into order…and to figure stuff out.  I have experienced an ongoing learning process in the changing ways of the internet in terms of marketing, ecommerce and customer experience.

What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you? If you want to be successful, you have to be willing to work. A LOT. So you better love what you do.  My work it not work because I would do it if money were no object.  I get paid to do what I would spend my time doing if money were no object.

If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what would it be? Time with my daughter.
