What attracted you to the field of fitness and exercise? Growing up in NC in a Marine Corps family is where fitness was first introduced; however by the time I got into HS, playing football in a big time program that required lifting weights and being strong hooked me for life. During my time in HS strength training I realized I liked to help other guys new to the weight room learn how to exercise properly, which ultimately lead to me realize my future calling early on. After HS graduation I moved north and went to college in NJ for Exercise Science at the same time I found a job working for a local personal training studio. I obtained my NASM personal training certification and started training clients and young athletes how to enhance their own physical abilities.
This studio was very progressive with trainer’s education and the focus on the advancement of young athletes. It would years later turn into a multi chain nation sports performance franchise that pioneered a lot of the tool and trends people are using today in regards to performance enhancement for athletes. I learned a lot working in this company and was inspired by the drive to help as many people as I could develop into the best trainers and athletes possible as I grew and took on leadership roles with in the organization.
After almost a decade in the training industry working with clients from 7-70 in 2008 I had an idea for a home and travel fitness product that would help me when I went to a client’s home to train them and also help those clients’ who travel not miss a workout. It took me almost 5 more years in the training industry working on this fitness product idea to bring what is now the called the ProUnit Performance Trainer training tool and fitness system to market in May 2013. This keeps me inspired everyday knowing that I am putting a product out there that people of all ages can use regardless of age and ability for the most part to aid in injury prevention and enhancement of performance.

A typical (or not so typical) day in the work-life for you? Right now lots of social media networking on all types of platforms from sun up to sun down building the ProUnit brand and of course getting to the gym a couple of hours per day. Lots of phone calls ranging from product development to some fitness business consulting work regarding the sports performance business.
How did you get your current job in fitness and exercise? I created this company and the ProUnit Performance Trainer out of the need to do more and help more people than I was currently able to do. Also the financial incentives were there as well given the ability to sell my product the ProUnit globally to potential millions of people in need of a great exercise tool and system.
What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way? I think I was born with the ability to work hard. And along the way I learned it’s not about just working hard it’s about working smart and hard together to get to where you want to be in the fitness business and in life.
What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you? If you have a dream or desire to be something more than you are regardless of what other say or think of you “GO FOR IT”. I think I would be further along my journey if I had not let certain people or setbacks keep me from believing in myself. You have to have courage, great courage to step out on your own into the light or in front of a much larger audience. This will not always be easy but it is most definitely worth the efforts you put into it. I learned you are either going to make other people wealthy in many different ways or you can take those same efforts, your efforts and put them into something you love and are passionate about and become wealthy in many different ways yourself while helping many others along the way!
If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what would it be? This is a tough one, I think the “feeling of giving” (AMPLIFIED) to someone regardless of what it is and seeing/feeling their gratitude and seeing their success because of something I was able to do would be an excellent reward of payment!
