What attracted you to the field of fitness and exercise? I have friends’ family members who struggle with health and fitness. Some even passed away due to their struggles with various health conditions. I felt inspired to help teach others the importance of nutrition and exercise in an effort to help them increase their overall vitality and maintain a healthy mind, body and spirit.

A typical (or not so typical) day-in-the-work-life for you? I study massage therapy at NHI in the mornings and train clients in the afternoon/ evening. Each day, I’m inspired to learn more about different modalities. I’m equally enthusiastic about seeing the progress in my training clients’ overall health and fitness. They help me see why the work I do is so important. If I can share some of what I know to help them achieve their overall health and fitness goals, then it’s a good day!
How did you get your current job in fitness and exercise? My friend, Shane Young, owner and founder of Ascend Body, asked me to join his studio and train clients. Ever since my first Certified Personal Trainer Certification through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), I became more and more interested in holistic health and exercise regimens. I further advanced my studies, acquiring Holistic Lifestyle Coach and Exercise Coach Certifications through CHEK Institute.
What skills were you born with and what skills have you learned along the way? I am personable and thoroughly enjoy working with people. I’m self-motivated and my authentic approach toward remaining dedicated to what I do in life show my enthusiasm for life. I continue to learn ways in how I can grow not only as a person, but in my business and services, as well.
What advice do you have for others wanting to be just as successful and fulfilled as you? Do what makes you happy. If you’re not happy, then something’s not working. We each have the power in us to make that change.
If you could be paid for your job with something other than a paycheck, what would it be?: Good food…and massages.
