| Job Description and Requirements |
Under the supervision of the nurse manager, the Exercise Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the exercise component of the program. The Exercise Specialist is responsible for reviewing patient history, presenting lectures, and writing exercise prescriptions. Reviews patient progress, evaluates compliance with exercise prescriptions, and patient response to exercise. Aids in leading community activities through education and exercises. Assists with health fairs for community throughout the year. The Exercist Physiologist is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating the exercise component of the Cardiac Wellness and Rehab program.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Bachelors degree in exercise science. American College of Sports Medicine or Exercise specialist certification preferred. Previous experience in adult fitness and/or cardiac rehab programs preferred. Certified in BLS and ACLS.
